Susan's September Challenge #15 Showcase

Good morning everyone!

This is my showcase showing my Feel The Fall mid month challenge at The East Wind. Our theme for Challenge #15 is Feel The Fall. I can't wait until Fall and Winter! I LOVE the colder weather.. I hate the heat! LOL  So here is what I came up for this challenge:

I used Lucy Loo Morning Coffee which you can find at The East Wind Shop. Okay... I know the eyes are really distracting LOL  They are such a light green. I just LOVE green eyes! And hey.. they match the paper and the stitching LOL!!  When I chose Lucy Loo Morning Coffee I was just thinking what a more perfect way to show fall than to be sipping some coffee or hot chocolate! Not to mention I LOVE Lucy Loo LOL!!  The card cut was done with the Cameo.. I LOVED this card with the fall leaves edge. The papers are all scraps from my Fall papers last year. The sentiment is stamped and the label was also cut from the Cameo. I added the two black pearls on the sides. I used several different stamps for this one. I used the little acorn and the coffee beans along with that sentiment.I inked all around her with brown and I distressed the edges of the paper. I did add the stitching around the edge with a light green thread to match the green in the paper.. and her eyes of course! LOL She is all colored up with my Copic markers and decoupaged a bit. I popped her legs, that front arm and coffee mug and her head. I try to get photos of my decoupage.. sometimes it just doesn't turn out that great. I used the same papers on the inside and inked the top paper like I did around Lucy Loo. I added the bean stamp on the inside as well to get it all matching! And I think that is it!

Copic Markers Used:
  • Skin: E000, E00, E02, E11, E13
  • Pants, Head Band, Bow: YR00, YR02, YR04, YR07, YR09, E18

Donna Showcasing New Zombie Pirate

I hope you all know about the new Zombie Contest on The East Wind FB Community page.   Unky has created 4 new stamps, specifically for this contest, although feel free to "zombify" any of her fabulous images to enter.  I was intrigued by the "Zombie who got killed by Captain Jack"  because it's a great image for male cards, and you all know how hard those can be.  I mean what guy doesn't like Pirates, or Zombies for that matter?  LOL  The DP is Tim Hotz, the treasure map was a freebie I found on the net.  Thought I'd throw in a little Zombie humor with the sentiment.  The BRAIN is from my pal Creepy Glowbugg.

I love coloring zombie skin with my fave combination of Warm Gray Copics with a bit of G21 for putrefaction.  Isn't he FUN!?  There's tons of inspiration on the TEW Community FB page so be sure to check it out.  Also, this is the last day to enter our Feel the Fall Blog Challenge, so hurry and join us.  New challenge starts October 1st.

Hair Hair Hair.... -Unky's coloring therapy #11

Last week, I passed the test for Canadian Citizenship! so I would say sorry that I missed video tutorial and Thank you for all the support that showed on facebook page and community! ^^ It means a lot to me. I studied all day and passed exam. I was soooo tired that day so I had to take a nap ^^

I wanted to point out one thing I always bare in mind when I colouring or making any art projects. often, I forget and over do it.

*I like to have sharp and loose part in my art.

on the part that you want to emphasis, there will be the brightestdarkest both in it, so it makes it even more clear. also you can see how I grab my pencil closer to lead for emphasis area vs. further hair, I kind of lay down the pencil and I grab my pencil further from lead.

*Strokes

On hair, follow the sketch lines. a lot of you call it 'flickering', start from dark to light, There are no secrets to it, practice will make it perfect. I don't think my strokes are the best neither. I have far way to go ^^.

Here is the video ^^

IF you liked the video, and take away something from it!
Please Like and share and comment!!!

Funky Antique Doll with frame - Crafting Vicky

Hello everyone!  There's a new challenge over at the East Wind FB group and the new challenge is about zombies!!!  How perfect right?!?  There's also a bunch of new released images just perfect for this new challenge!

In my case I used an older image and transformed it up.  I used the fabulous Funky Antique Doll with frame.

The paper that I used for this card is from Teresa Collins - masquerade party.  I added some flowers from Prima with some brads from eyelet outlet.  I used my grand oval, grand decorative ovals and my large oval all from Spellbinder.

Here's a closer look at the digi that I colored with my copics.
Hope you have enjoyed my inspiration for you!   Can't wait to see what you do for this FB challenge!  Don't forget to think outside the box!!!

Have a great crafting day!!!

Zombie FB Contest and New Release images!

Yesterday was a big day at The East Wind! We have a new Facebook contest and the theme is 'Zombies'... so of course, we have to give you some Zombie images to work with! Come and check out the new release - there are four fabulous images!

Up first is Glamzombie! She's a lady with issues! I've coloured her with a combination of Promarkers and WHSmith Blendable Pencils. I've coloured the background with Mowed Lawn, Dusty Concord and Black Soot Distress Inks and mounted on black pearlescent paper. The DP is from Martha Stewart.
The stickers are from my stash and the sentiment is from Create with TLC.

This zombie pirate type guy seems to be a little worse for wear! He's also coloured with Promarkers and pencils. The DP is from Echo Park's Apothecary Emporium paper pack. The sentiment is from Create with TLC.

This image is called Broken Doll, I just love this!
Again, promarkers and pencils for added detail are my colouring medium. I have edged the image with Black Soot DI. The check paper is from Nikki Sivils 'Boo-tiful' paper pack, the other purple paper was in my stash. The black is a 160gsm card and I've used that to make the rolled rose too - that is from a Silhouette Store cut file. The card is finished with Metallic Purple Candi... which look black in the photo!

This final new image for today is called 'Broken Bisque'.
I have used Promarkers and Pencils to colour her and then coated her in Ranger Distress Crackle Paint in 'Clear Rock Candy' - this gives the cracked effect when dry. I then rubbed Black Soot DI across the image once the paint was dry. I have used the fabulous new Bon Bon papers from Craftwork Cards and a matching sentiment to finish.

 Thanks for looking!

Flower fairy inspiration project

Bettina here today. I am going to show you a piece with our latest digital release. Flower fairy is absolutely gorgeous, and will be a beautiful centerpiece no matter what you are making with her.

She's so gorgeous looking that I decided that she needed to be the center of attention and added a minimum of embellies to go along with her. I embossed the background paper and added some leftover ribbon and a music note charm from stash. The sentiment is one I have gotten with a rubber stamp pack. The little glitter around the image gives the perfect touch for our little beauty.  She's coloured with my promarkers. You can get Flower fairy here

A little reminder that there is 5 days left to get your fall project into our newest challenge over here.

Sunday 14 September 2014

Hi everyone. It's Bonnie here today. Earlier this week, I decided to play with an image from The East Wind for  a circle themed challenge for which I needed an inspiration piece. I coloured Lucy Loo Flower Goddess with my Prismacolor pencils, adding some tiny punched flowers to her neckline and sleeve. The image was then cut out with a Die-namics circle die and inked around the edge with Peacock Feathers Distress ink.

A rectangle was cut from black cardstock slightly smaller than the white card base. Three smaller circles were cut from turquoise designer paper using dies from the same set. They were inked around the edges with Peacock Feathers and faux stitched with a black Micron. A length of black and white baker's twine was wrapped across the card bisecting the circles. Sparkly white letter stickers spelling JOY were added to the black background.

Once the image was adhered to the card, three tiny butterflies were punched from the same turquoise paper and shaded with Prismacolor pencil before colouring the bodies with black pen These were adhered coming off the image circle to seem like the butterflies were flitting about. It also ties the image to the background. A black button was added to the center turquoise circle...one more round element and it seemed to anchor the twine visually.

Thanks for visiting today. Lucy Loo and I appreciate you spending time with us.  Remember to check out The East Wind blog tomorrow when we will begin our next challenge.

Donna Showcasing the New Lucy Loo 'Mad Hatter'

OOOh, it's Friday and another new FABULOUS release from The East Wind.  It's Donna, showcasing Lucy Loo 'Mad Hatter' and I couldn't be more thrilled.  I'm a huge AIW fan and Unky does these characters proud.  I've made a tag with a base that has been moved around my table for several years and the fab DP's from Graphic 45 Halloween in Wonderland.  The tattered clock die is Tim Holtz and I've added some tea time charms from my stash.

Doesn't Lucy Loo make a fab Mad Hatter?  It's all in the attitude (or should I say "hattitude").  I've colored her with Copics and fussy cut her to pop on the tag.  Stay tuned for more characters from The East Wind.  You might just fall down the rabbit hole.

Witch and a Kitty release

It's monday and time for me, Bettina, to have a little inspiration post for you today. We've got a new release going on at The East Wind today and she is sooo cute. Just you wait and see. I've gone ahead and made a treat bag from scratch and she's the perfect fit for it.

Isn't she the cutest little witch you've ever seen? And what a great way to go trick and treat with this little bag too!!
I've used my Martha Stewart spider border punch and some letters from Tim Holtz and the cheesecloth in the background kinda makes her just a little bit spooky.

Witch and a kitty can be bought in the store over here. Remember you got almost 3 days to play along with our Birthday Princess challenge here and we've got a Aaargh Pirates fb challenge going on until the 17th over here

I made it to yoga practice, and also went to costco and got bunch of grocery's!!!! Wow! It is beginning of freedom for me.

Today's Video is speed video of drawing pirate Lucy Loo image ^^
