Challenge # 3 - Spring with Crafting Vicky

Hello everyone!  It's my turn to post on the showcase blog and I'm sharing with you my card for the challenge over at The East wind and this time our challenge for you is spring.

For this challenge I decided to use the super cute Aurora Easter.  I thought this would be a great Spring scene!!!  And ohhh soooo looking forward to spring!  It snowed here again this week.... I'm totally fed up of this white stuff!!!!

Anyway here's my card!
The paper is from Doodle bug Design Inc. - Hello Spring.  I used some ribbon from my stash as well as a little charm.  The flowers and the egg are foam embellishments that I had from last year.  I used some candies as the center of the foam flower.  I used my scallop and my large circle from Spellbinder.

Here's a closer look at the great digi that I colored with my copics.  I did the sky with my Salty ocean distress ink and I inked around the digi and the sentiment with my seedless preserves.
Hope you have liked this little card and you will be inspired to play with us!!!!!

Have a great crafting day!!!

Susan's Challenge #2 Closeup

Good morning everyone!! Today I get to share in more detail my card from our Challenge #2. Our 2nd Challenge is a freebie challenge. Our theme to go along with our freebie is Use A Digi. That won't be a problem since you are using the freebie!

Here is what I created with our first freebie:

For this one I colored the image with my Copic Markers. I decoupaged the image.. I really wanted to focus on giving the ruffles of the dress some dimension. I also popped her front arm, her face, her hair. She is so cute isn't she! I love this image! I also gave the butterfly a bit of dimension as well. I added some glitter to the flowers in her hair and a pearl as her earring. I used a circle die cut on one layer and I laced twine around that circle. The image was also cut from a square die cut. Both of those are Spellbinders. I also added the swirl and leaves which are die cuts. The swirl was Cheery Lynn and the leaves were both My Favorite Things and Spellbinders. I added the different blooms. One of the pieces of paper was dry embossed with a butterfly pattern. I stitched around the square with the image and I stamped the sentiment. I believe that was it! I also added some layers on the inside and another sentiment to go along with the one in the front.

Copic:
  • Skin: E000, E00, E02, E13
  • Hair: E21, E97, E99, E39, E59
  • Eyes: BG07, YG06
  • Butterfly: YG21, YG23, YG25, YR02, YR04, YR09
  • Dress: Boo, B21, B23

Lucy Loo close up - Crafting Vicky

I'm here to share with you a little card made just because... for the fun of it with my quirky sense of humor.

And well Lucy Loo really reminds me of me... at least the me inside :)  That I don't let out in public so much but that's there lurking and being the sarcastic person :)  Yup I can be quite sarcastic.  Anyway I totally adore her!!!  And I did her with some hair that I would never try myself... I'm way too conservative for it.  And if you like East wind why not come and join us in our FB group?!?  There are some games... and some freebies... just saying lol :)
The paper is from DCWV - Premium pack.  I doesn't show in the picture but all the black parts are raised and glossy :)  I added a little ribbon from my stash.  The sentiment was cut using my Joanna Sheen die # 5.

Here's a closer look at the great Lucy Loo.  And the sentiment is from Create with TLC
I hope that you have like this and you will go and check out the fabulous digis of The East wind!

Wiola's March freebie post

Here's my card for the latest challenge. I have used the monthly Aurora freebie. Sign up for the news-letter at the East Wind and get your freebie too.

I have made the background out of some newspaper sheets (and not ordinary paper) which I have painted with purple, silver, golden and white acrylic paint. I have done so before (here for example) and I like the result. The difference between painting on ordinary paper sheet and newspaper sheet is mostly the power of absorption. I also think you can get some really interesting and unique patterns by painting on cut-outs of newspaper/magazines, for example like the bigger circle to the right. Here's another example.

The crumbled golden circle comes from the sealing of a wine bottle.

One of my New Year's Resolutions was to do some more crafting out of recycled materials, so I try for once to keep up with one of my resolutions. :D
